For nearly fifty years, Morley Baer (1916-1995) was one of the great American architectural photographers as well as a landscape photographer of the West Coast in the tradition of Edward Weston and Ansel Adams. He served as the head of the Photography Department of the San Francisco Art Institute and received the National Award for Photography from the American Institute of Architects. I had the pleasure of acting as his assistant for a photography workshop. An extraordinary man. Image courtesy of Scott Nichols Gallery.
